Discovering Lille

Lille Tourist Office

Lille Tourist Office is housed in the former gothic chapel of a 15th century palace built by the Dukes of Burgundy (Palais Rihour). Located at the Place Rihour, right in the city centre, it's a stone's throw from the main square (Grand Place, aka Place du Général de Gaulle).

Discover the tale of the citadel and its park

The construction of the citadel (1667-1670) heralded the dawn of a new era for Lille: as part of the Kingdom of France, the town was extended and endowed progressively with architectural works à la française, to become a genuine provincial capital. Although to this day, the fortification remains a military site, its surrounding area now houses the greatest of the city's parks and was awarded the espace vert écologique (ecological green space) certification by Ecocert in October 2007.
