The main outdoor markets

From its rich merchant past, Lille has retained a real commercial tradition. Here, shopping is a reflection of the northern towns: lively and friendly.
Each district has its own special features, and the variety of markets (& shops !) is enough to satisfy every budget and every desire.

The Wazemmes market

► Place de la Nouvelle Aventure
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.

With food, flowers, fabrics, and exotic products, it’s one of the biggest markets in France, and perhaps one of the liveliest (up to 50,000 people some Sundays). Colourful, with a "Soho" atmosphere, you’ll often hear an accordion being played. On Sundays, a flea market is set up around the Saint-Pierre Saint-Paul church.

Covered market in the “halles” (market hall) every day except Monday.

The Concert market

► Place du Concert
Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.

A quant, up-scale food market at the heart of Old Lille featuring a few regional growers.

The Sebastopol market

► Place Sébastopol
Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.

A small, peaceful food market in the city centre.

The Art markets

Place des Archives: Sundays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Rue au Péterinck and Place aux Oignons: Sundays from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm.

As an extension to the Concert market, professional and amateur artists display and sell their works (paintings, pottery, jewellery, etc.)
